Being Shot

In the Language of Mind, being shot is not violence or harm — it is forced self-transformation. Read the form and function: a gun is a tool that fires a concentrated point of force to bring about a sudden, irreversible change, and in a dream death is never literal — it is the ending of one way of being so a new one can be born. So when you are the one shot, your subconscious is showing you that change has reached you whether you invited it or not; a part of who you have been is being made to die so something more alive can take its place. Examine where in your waking life you feel pierced by circumstance — a loss, an ending, a pressure you did not choose — that is quietly forcing you to become someone new. Notice the variations: being shot by a stranger means the change is driving at an aspect of yourself you don't yet recognize, while being shot and feeling no pain, or surviving, says the transformation is already complete and you are meant to keep walking. The gun that fired, the figure who aimed it, the room it happened in — each is still a part of you, still speaking.
