Card

In the Language of Mind, a card is a single, fixed piece of information you have been dealt — a known fact or condition in your present hand of consciousness. Look at its form and function: a card is a flat token that carries marked information, and it is dealt, revealed, and read before you decide how to play it. So in the language of mind it mirrors a discrete understanding already handed to you by life — not something you control, but something you must read honestly and play with skill. Examine where in your waking life you've been given a set of facts and the real question is no longer what the facts are, but how you will play them.

Read the variations. A playing card or a hand of cards = the conditions you've been dealt and your strategy for engaging them — are you holding back, bluffing yourself, or playing your hand openly? An ID or business card = your self-concept, the identity you are presenting and assessing. A greeting or message card = communication carrying information between the levels of your mind. That is one symbol read clean — yet the table it sat on, the figure who dealt it, the room it was played in are each still speaking.
