Remember, your true value is infinite and can never actually rise or fall; only your awareness of it can. Writing a check = drawing on your worth to back a real commitment, an act of self-belief made tangible; a balance you fear is too low = a sense of running short on value, of not feeling worthy enough to spend; a bounced or refused check = a desire your inner accounting won't yet fund, a place you've decided you don't deserve it.
