Chocolate

In the Language of Mind, chocolate is a specific kind of food, and all food is knowledge — understanding extracted from experience and absorbed until it becomes part of you. But look closer at its form and function: chocolate is not bread or meat, eaten to nourish; it is sweet, craved, eaten for the pleasure of the senses. A vehicle does what a vehicle does, and chocolate does what an indulgence does. So your subconscious is showing you knowledge or experience you are reaching for because it feels good — sensory gratification — not because it truly nourishes the self. Examine where in your waking life you keep returning to what is pleasurable over what is genuinely feeding your growth. Notice the variation: eagerly eating it = appetite for the easy, sweet experience; chocolate that is bitter, spoiled, or that you refuse = a craving you've begun to outgrow, an understanding that no longer satisfies. That is one symbol read clean. The kitchen it sat in, the figure who offered it, the hunger underneath are all still speaking.
