Death is simply chance. And since everything in the dream is a part of the dreamer, then death will represent inner transformation. The context in which this symbol shows up will give insight into what type of changer or inner transformation. For example, if someone else in the dream is trying to kill the dreamer, then that will reflect how the dreamer feels like something or someone in their outer environment is trying to force them to change, like a situation, or a relationship, or a place like home, or work, etc., this is typically happening unconsciously. If the dreamer is dreaming that they are the one doing the killing, then it reflects how the dreamer is consciously choosing which aspects of themselves they are choosing to change.
