Dream Symbol · Universal Language of Mind
inner transformation
'Dying' in a dream represents inner transformation. This is one of the most common and most misunderstood dream symbols. Death in the Universal Language of the Mind does not represent physical death -- it represents the death of an old way of being and the birth of something new. It is change at the deepest level. When you or someone else dies in your dream, it reflects that a significant transformation is occurring within your consciousness. An old aspect of yourself -- an old belief, an old habit, an old identity -- is dying so that a new, more evolved version can emerge. This is the natural process of growth. The caterpillar must die for the butterfly to be born. Pay attention to who is dying in the dream. If it is you, it represents a transformation of your primary sense of self. If it is someone you know, the qualities you associate with that person represent the aspect of yourself that is being transformed. If it is a stranger, an unfamiliar aspect of yourself is changing. When dying shows up in your dream, do not fear it -- embrace it. Change and transformation are signs of growth. Something within you is evolving. Let the old die so the new can emerge. The only thing that dies in transformation is what no longer serves you. What remains is a more aware, more evolved, more powerful version of who you truly are.
