Ferry

In the Language of Mind a ferry is a crossing — your physical body, your life, carrying consciousness from one shore of experience to another. Read its form and function: a ferry is a vehicle, like a car or boat, so it stands for the body that carries you toward your goals; but unlike a car bound to a road, a ferry exists to move you ACROSS water, and water is your conscious life experience itself. Its whole purpose is the passage between two lands — two states of mind. So when you board a ferry, your subconscious is showing you a deliberate transition you are making: leaving one way of being and being carried toward another, over the very experiences you must move through to get there. Examine where in your waking life you are mid-crossing right now — no longer on the old shore, not yet on the new one.

Read the variations the way you'd read the passage itself. Calm, clear water beneath the ferry = a transition you understand and trust; choppy or fogbound water = a change you're moving through before you can see where it lands. Missing the ferry, or watching it leave, asks whether you're hesitating to begin a crossing your inner Self already knows is due; arriving safely at the far dock = a state of mind successfully reached. And notice who else is aboard — every passenger is an aspect of you making the journey too. That is one symbol, read clean. The shore you left, the figure at the rail, the dock ahead are all still speaking.
