The store

In the Language of Mind, a store is a state of mind centered on exchange — where you give value to receive value. Look at its form and function: a store is a place you enter, weigh what is offered, and trade something of yours (money, energy, attention) for something you want to take in. A place in a dream is always a state of consciousness, and the objects within it are the thoughts composing that state. So a store shows you a part of your mind that is shopping — appraising, valuing, deciding what is worth taking on and what it will cost you. Examine where in your waking life you are standing at this counter: what are you reaching for, and what are you spending of yourself to get it? Notice the variations. A full, abundant store mirrors a mind that perceives plenty and real options to choose from; empty shelves or a closed store reflect a sense of scarcity, or a value you believe is no longer available to you. Browsing without buying is a mind weighing worth, not yet committed to the exchange. That is one symbol read clean — but the aisles you walked, the money in your hand, the figure behind the register are each still speaking.
