Chase

In the Language of Mind, being chased is not a threat closing in on you from outside — it is you, running from a part of yourself you refuse to turn and look at. Read the form and function: a chase is pursuit and flight, one thing fleeing while another follows. Movement away from something is always an aspect of self being avoided, and whatever follows you in a dream is never a stranger — it is always your own mind, an unproductive habit, fear, or truth you won't be honest about, pressing to be faced. So examine where in your waking life you are sprinting from something you already know you need to confront. Notice the variations: the harder and more terrifying the pursuer, the more energy you've spent outrunning it, and the more power it gains — what you flee grows; what you face dissolves. Hiding is the same message at a whisper. The growth move is to stop, turn, and meet it; in the moment you face the chaser, it loses its grip, because it was only ever your own avoidance wearing a mask. That is one symbol read clean — but the dark you ran through, the place you fled, the door you hid behind are each still speaking.
