Closet

In the Language of Mind, a closet is the small, closed-off room of the psyche where you store the parts of your self-expression you are not currently showing the world. Read its form and function: a house is your whole state of mind, and a closet is an enclosed compartment inside it that holds clothing — and clothing, in this language, is expression, how you present yourself outwardly. So a closet is the area of consciousness where aspects of who you are sit folded away, out of sight, kept rather than worn. Because it is dark and shut, it points to expression you keep unacknowledged — qualities you own but hide, even from yourself. Examine where in your waking life you are stowing a part of yourself in the dark instead of wearing it openly. Notice the variations: rummaging through a closet for something to wear is your mind searching for the right way to express itself in a situation; an overflowing or messy closet is expression you have stored up but never sorted or used; a closet you are hiding inside is an aspect of self you are keeping concealed, refusing to step out and be seen as. That is one room, read clean. The house it sits in, the clothes you reached for, the door you opened or kept shut — each is still speaking. Your subconscious talks to you every night in this exact language; CHITTA is simply where you learn to read the rest of the sentence. Go within, or go without.
