Gate

In the Language of Mind, a gate is a controlled point of access between one state of mind and another. Look at its form and function: a gate is the one opening set into a wall or fence — the boundary that otherwise blocks you — and a gate can swing open or stay shut. So unlike a wall that seals a state of mind off completely, a gate is a threshold you are allowed to pass through, but only under a condition. Your subconscious is showing you a passage into a new way of being that is available to you — and asking whether you are willing to walk through it. Examine where in your waking life you stand at exactly such a threshold: a new level of awareness, a relationship, an opportunity you can see clearly but have not yet entered.

Read the variations the way the gate behaves. An open gate = the state of mind is accessible right now, the way is clear, move through it; a closed or locked gate = a limiting belief is the bolt holding it shut, and the key is simply the idea or insight that lets you in. A gate opening from the far side = a new awareness being offered to you, an invitation arriving. That is one symbol decoded. But notice what stands on either side of it — the wall it pierces, the road that runs up to it, the figure who holds it — each is still speaking.
