Hunting

In the Language of Mind, hunting is the active, intentional pursuit of specific knowledge — your mind tracking down one particular understanding it has decided it needs. Look at the form and function: to hunt is not to stumble upon, but to deliberately stalk, track, and pursue a chosen quarry until you catch it. So when you hunt in a dream, your subconscious is showing you that some part of you is no longer waiting passively for insight to arrive — it has fixed its attention on a specific answer and is moving toward it with intention. Examine where in your waking life you are tracking something down: a question you keep circling, an understanding you have decided you must have.

Read the variations closely. A clean, focused hunt = you know exactly what you are after and your attention is sharp; an aimless or lost hunt = you sense you need an answer but have not yet named the question, so your pursuit scatters. Hunting and never catching = you are seeking outside yourself for something that can only be found within. And notice your weapon — in this language a weapon is a mental tool that brings about inner change, the very instrument of concentration you are using to bring the knowledge down. That is one symbol, read clean. The forest you hunt through, the animal you stalk — each is still speaking.
