feeling that something outside of yourself is forcing you to change
A 'Murderer' in a dream represents the feeling that something outside of yourself is forcing you to change. Death represents transformation, and a murderer is someone who causes death against the victim's will. In the Universal Language of the Mind, this reflects the experience of being forced into change that you did not choose.
This is not the same as killing, which represents conscious, deliberate transformation. A murderer represents change that feels imposed upon you -- by circumstances, by other people, or by aspects of yourself that you are not in control of. You are being transformed whether you like it or not. When a murderer shows up in your dream, it is reflecting your resistance to change that is happening in your life. Something is forcing you to transform, and you are experiencing it as threatening and unwelcome. But here is the truth: no change can occur in your life without your thoughts having created the conditions for it. Even forced transformation is, at its root, caused by your own consciousness. When this symbol appears, examine what change you are resisting. What is forcing you to be different? Instead of fighting it, ask: what is this transformation trying to teach me? When you stop resisting and start cooperating with the change, the murderer becomes a teacher and the fear becomes growth.
