Supermarket

In the Language of Mind, a supermarket is a state of mind where you are choosing what to give value to. Look at its form and function: a supermarket is a vast store stocked with goods you walk through, select from, and carry home to take in. Food is knowledge, the understanding you digest from experience. So an aisle of shelves mirrors the abundance of knowledge and understanding available to you right now, and the act of shopping is your mind weighing what is worth taking in and what to leave behind. Examine where in your waking life you are surrounded by more options, ideas, and lessons than you can absorb, deciding what deserves your attention and what does not.

Read the variations. Filling a full cart eagerly = a hunger to assimilate, a season of taking in everything within reach; wandering empty-handed or finding bare shelves = a sense that the nourishment you seek is not here, that you have outgrown this source of understanding. Notice what you reached for, and whether you actually ate any of it. That is one symbol read clean. The store you walked, the people choosing beside you, the money you spent measuring self-value as you went, are all still speaking.
