Teleportation

In the Language of Mind, teleportation is the instant shift from one state of mind to another. Look at its form and function: to teleport is to vanish from one place and reappear in another without crossing the ground between — and since every place in a dream is a state of consciousness, teleporting is your mind jumping levels in a single beat, bypassing the slow, step-by-step journey it usually takes. Where movement toward a destination shows gradual progress on a goal, teleportation shows a sudden inner relocation: a way of being you dropped in an instant and the new one you snapped into. Examine where in your waking life you've shifted states almost without noticing — a problem you struggled inside one moment and saw clearly the next, a self you stepped out of overnight. Read the variations: arriving somewhere familiar means returning to a known state of mind, while teleporting into a strange or foreign place means landing in an aspect of yourself you don't yet recognize; teleporting at will means you're learning to move consciously between levels, while being yanked there means the subconscious is doing the moving for you.
