Weed

In the Language of Mind, a weed is an unproductive thought growing wild in your subconscious. Look at its form and function: a weed is a plant nobody planted on purpose, and every plant is a thought-form rooted in the subconscious soil (the Akasha, the mind-stuff all things grow from). A weed does what every plant does — it grows, spreads, and drinks the same nourishment — except it serves no harvest. So when weeds choke a dream, your subconscious is showing you beliefs and mental habits that took root unconsciously and are now stealing energy from the thoughts you actually want to cultivate. Examine where in your waking life something keeps growing back no matter how often you cut at the surface — a worry, a self-doubt, an old story you never deliberately chose to plant.

Read the variations the way a gardener reads a bed. Pulling weeds = you are consciously rooting out an unproductive pattern; weeds overtaking a garden = unexamined thoughts crowding out the deliberate ones; weeds among flowers or crops = productive and unproductive thinking tangled at the same root, asking to be sorted. That is one symbol, decoded clean. The soil it grew in, the garden it invaded, the hand reaching to pull it are all still speaking. Your subconscious talks to you every night in this exact language — you simply haven't learned to read the whole sentence yet. Go within, or go without.
