Ceiling

A 'Ceiling' in a dream represents the separation between the inner levels of the mind. Just as a physical ceiling separates one floor from the next in a building, a ceiling in a dream represents the boundary between different levels of your consciousness. The three floors of a house represent the three divisions of the mind -- the first floor is the conscious mind, the second floor is the subconscious mind, and the third floor or attic is the superconscious mind. The ceiling is what separates these levels. It is the boundary you must pass through to access a deeper or higher level of awareness. Pay attention to the condition of the ceiling. Is it solid and impenetrable, reflecting a strong barrier between your current level of awareness and the next? Is it cracked or broken, indicating that the barriers between your levels of consciousness are thinning and you are beginning to access deeper levels? Is there a hole or opening in the ceiling? This represents an access point to a higher level of mind. When a ceiling shows up in your dream, it is calling for you to examine what is separating you from the next level of your spiritual development. What beliefs, habits, or fears are creating a barrier between you and deeper awareness? The ceiling is not permanent -- with persistent effort through concentration, meditation, and dream work, you can break through to new levels of consciousness.
