Child

A 'Child' in a dream represents an undeveloped aspect of the self. People in dreams represent the different characteristics within your personality. A child is a young person who has not yet developed into maturity. In the Universal Language of the Mind, this reflects a quality or aspect of your consciousness that exists within you but has not yet been developed. Unlike a baby, which represents a brand new idea just being born, a child has been around for a while and has begun to develop but still requires significant attention, guidance, and nurturing to reach its full potential. This could be a quality like patience, discipline, generosity, or confidence that you have begun to cultivate but is still far from mature. Pay attention to the age, behavior, and gender of the child. Is it a boy (developing aspect of the conscious mind) or a girl (developing aspect of the subconscious mind)? What is the child doing? Is the child happy and thriving, indicating healthy development? Or is the child neglected, lost, or in danger, reflecting that this developing aspect of yourself needs more attention and care? When a child shows up in your dream, identify what quality within yourself is still developing and commit to giving it the attention it needs. Continue to nurture it with intention and practice until it grows into a fully mature, productive aspect of who you are.
