In the Language of Mind, a dentist is your superconscious mind tending to how well you assimilate your life experiences. Read the form and the function together. A dentist is a kind of doctor, and every doctor, teacher, or authority figure in a dream is the superconscious — the inner teacher and healer. What the dentist works on is teeth, and teeth are your mental tools for breaking experience down so its lesson can be digested: concentration, attention, memory, imagination. So a dentist is the higher Self stepping in to repair, clean, and upgrade the very faculties you use to learn from your life. Examine where in your waking life a way of taking in experience has gone neglected — where you are chewing on the same situations without ever extracting the understanding. Notice the variation: a dentist drilling or fixing a cavity says decay has set into one of your mental tools and your inner teacher is calling for repair, not punishment; a routine cleaning or check-up says you are being asked to refine and maintain an ability that is basically sound. That is one symbol read clean. The teeth themselves, the chair you sat in, the room around it are all still speaking the same language.
