Freezing

In the Language of Mind, freezing is conscious life experience that has lost its motion — a moment you have stopped moving through and locked onto. Look at the form and function: water is the experience every living thing moves through, and freezing is what happens when that flowing water goes cold and solid, fixed in place, unable to move. So in the language of your own consciousness, freezing shows a once-living experience you have arrested — a single instant, hurt, or memory you keep returning to until it hardens and the current of life stops flowing around it. Examine where in your waking life you have planted your attention on one frozen moment and refuse to let the river move again. Read the variations the way you'd read ice on a pond. To watch a scene freeze still mid-dream is a lesson you have paused on rather than digested; to be frozen in place yourself, unable to move while something approaches, is an aspect of you so locked by that fixation it cannot act — and the thing nearing you is always a part of you, asking to be faced so the thaw can begin.
