Head

In the Language of Mind, the head is the seat of conscious awareness itself — the place where your thinking, reasoning, and waking sense of "I" reside. Look at its form and function: the head is the body's command center, housing the brain that directs every choice and the eyes through which you face the world. So when the head is what your dream draws your attention to, your subconscious is pointing straight at your conscious mind — how you are thinking, deciding, and directing your life right now. Examine where in your waking life your attention and reasoning are being tested. Read the variations carefully: a wounded or aching head = your thinking under strain, beliefs that need re-examining; losing your head, or it being severed, is not a violence omen but inner change — an old way of thinking ending so a new mind can take its place. Whatever sits on that head reads the same — a crown is self-control over your own mind, a hat is how you choose to express the thoughts inside it. That is one symbol, read clean; the body it crowns, the room it turned in, the figure it faced are still speaking.
