Flood

In the Language of Mind a flood is not "overwhelming emotion" — it is conscious life experience arriving faster than you can take it in. Look at the form and function: water is the one substance every living thing must move through to live, and you move through lived experience the same way; a flood is simply that water breaking its banks. So when your subconscious shows you rising water swallowing the streets, it is showing you a season where experience is pouring in faster than you can digest it into understanding — too much happening, too quickly, with no time to absorb the lesson before the next wave hits. Examine where in your waking life the volume has outrun your capacity to process it. Read the variations: floodwater that is murky and churning = experiences still unclear, undigested; a calm flood you can wade through = a full season you are actually beginning to integrate; water rising inside a house = it is your own state of mind being submerged, room by room. That is one symbol, read clean — but the house it fills, the figure standing in the current, the stairs you climb to escape it are all still speaking.
