Mask

A 'Mask' in a dream represents either the assumption of an identity or a need to be honest about who you truly are. A mask covers the face -- and the face represents your identity. When you wear a mask, you are presenting a false identity to the world. You are hiding who you truly are behind something that is not real. This could be a protective mechanism -- sometimes you wear a mask because you do not feel safe showing your true self. Or it could be a form of deception -- presenting yourself as something you are not in order to gain approval, avoid judgment, or manipulate others' perceptions. Pay attention to the type of mask. Is it a beautiful mask, suggesting that the identity you are presenting is attractive but inauthentic? Is it a frightening mask, indicating that you are using a false identity to intimidate or create distance? Is the mask being removed, reflecting the process of dropping the facade and revealing your true self? When a mask shows up in your dream, it is calling for radical honesty with yourself. Who are you pretending to be? Why? And who are you underneath the mask? The path to self-mastery requires the courage to remove every mask and stand in the truth of who you actually are. The Real Self -- the I AM -- cannot be known through a mask. Remove it.
