In the Language of Mind, your childhood home is not nostalgia for a place — it is the foundational state of mind you were first built in, the baseline consciousness you keep returning to. Read the form and function: a house is a structure that contains and shelters whoever lives inside it, exactly as the mind contains the self; and the childhood one is the earliest such structure, the original condition of consciousness laid down before you chose much of anything. So when your dream walks you back through those rooms, your subconscious is showing you that a present situation is being met from an old, formative way of being — the mental "home" you default to under pressure. Examine where in your waking life you are responding from a self that was set in place long ago rather than the one you are now.

Read the variations the way you'd read any house. Rooms you re-enter are areas of consciousness you are revisiting; exploring a new room there is self-awareness expanding into territory the old self never opened. Notice the condition — pristine and warm = a foundation that still serves you; rundown, dark, or for-sale = a baseline state ready to be released or rebuilt. And note the floors: the basement holds what is still unknown to you, the upper floors reach toward the subconscious and superconscious above this ground level. That is one symbol, read clean. The figures who met you there, the road that led back, the light or dark in the windows — all of it is still speaking the same language.
